| "Set Yourself Free" came from walking through the bamboo groves of Arashiyama west of Kyoto. Actually I wasn't walking through so much as walking amongst. I was transfixed. I stood for a long time mesmerized by the sight and sound of this canopy as tall as a five story building swaying gracefully. The percussive clacking of the trunks reaching, stretching for the light. It will always remain a vision of hope for me. - JB 2008 |
