Berkeley Editions Celebrating 30 Years27 May 2011 Here at Berkeley Editions, we couldn't let this pass without sharing news of our special night at the State Library of NSW last Thursday. It was a great success! The occasion was a celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Berkeley Editions. The event was opened by Edmund Capon, Director of the Art Gallery of NSW. A public speaker without peer, he held the crowd all spellbound with his talk about the rich history of printmaking throughout the centuries and also the important role our company has played in this interesting art form in Australia. His gracious words were humbling. A big thank you to Edmund, and to the State Library's Maggie Patton for their engaging official welcome and to the roll up of so many of our stellar artists. Living legend Margaret Olley lent her star power, along with the likes of Garry Shead, the iconic Charles Blackman, Jason Benjamin and Kerrie Lester. We showed a short film featuring Archibald prize winning Garry Shead creating his latest etching for Berkeley Editions 'The Bride (Mount Pleasant)'. It was a lovely evening with many highlights -not the least of which was Jason Benjamin's spontaneous speech. He told the crowd that we treat our artists like family, which was great to hear. As I said in my own speech, our iconic artists at Berkeley Editions "are an inspiration and a joy to work with". And now that the party's over, it's back to business. We have such exciting Limited Edition Prints in stock at present and we welcome our visitors to our Paddington Studio. We look forward to seeing you soon-and to being of service. » View photo gallery |

Garry Shead on the Gold Coast31st July 2010 There's no doubt about the folks on Queensland's Gold Coast: they have a wonderful lifestyle and more importantly, they all seem to be happy! This observation was made during the opening of an exciting Limited Edition "Works On Paper" Exhibition at Gallery One in Southport recently. 10 of Berkeley Editions' artists were represented in this show, which was highlighted by an afternoon with BE artist Garry Shead on 31st July - an event which marked the official opening of the exhibition. Robyn Berkeley went up for the afternoon event, along with Garry and his girlfriend Rose. It was wonderful to see the turnout for this event and to see the enthusiasm of the crowd for Garry's latest work "The Bride (Mount Pleasant)". It is a Limited Edition multi-plate coloured etchingof only 55, each of which is personally hand-finished by the artist. RRP $8,000. » View photo gallery |

WCEI (AUST) Celebrate Christmas at Berkeley EditionsDecember 2008 The Women’s Chiefs of Enterprises International (Australia) held their Christmas Party at Berkeley Editions in Paddington on Tuesday 16th December. Robyn Berkeley welcomed the members of the WCEI headed by Fiona Shand (pictured top right with David Zemann), President of the NSW branch of the organization, who then addressed the members. Popular artists Fred Cress (pictured bottom right with Diana Yeldham) and Jason Benjamin attended and a lively discussion ensued on the finer points of producing multi-plate coloured etchings and how they both enjoyed the process. Etching plates of some of their work as well as woodcut blocks were available for viewing. Financial Advisor Eric Hiam from Balance Financial Solutions also attended at the invitation of Robyn Berkeley and gave a short talk about Investing In Art. » View photo gallery |

Design Institute of Australia - An Evening with Craig RuddyNovember 2008 The clever use of colour is of course at the heart of both great art and great style - and these two worlds came together in December 2008, at a night hosted jointly by Berkeley Editions and the Design Institute of Australia (DIA). Robyn Berkeley and the DIA’s Elisabeth VanDyk welcomed some of Sydney’s leading interior designers, colourists and stylists to an evening that was about inspiring participants to put colour to work in magical ways.
